Acct 315 Review And Analyze Three Tableau Public Dashboards(1)
📋 Assignment Instructions
Purpose of the Assignment
This assignment helps you build critical data visualization skills by examining real dashboards created by Tableau Public users around the world. By reviewing others’ work, you will learn what makes a dashboard clear, effective, visually appealing, and analytically sound.
You will review three public dashboards, describe who created each one, summarize the key insights, and critically analyze the design and storytelling approach.
Part 1 — Find Three Tableau Public Dashboards
Go to:
https://public.tableau.com/app/discoverLinks to an external site.
Browse the featured, trending, or category dashboards.
Select three dashboards that meet the following criteria:
• They must be public dashboards on Tableau Public.
• They must be created by three different authors.
• They should each have at least three charts or interactive features.
Choose dashboards that interest you—sports, finance, education, public health, entertainment, demographics, etc.
Part 2 — Document Dashboard Information
For each dashboard, you must provide:
1. Dashboard Title
The exact name as it appears on Tableau Public.
2. Author Name
Who created it? (Example: “By Jane Doe”)
3. Link to the Dashboard
Paste the public URL so I can review the same dashboard.
Example:
https://public.tableau.com/views/DashboardName/Sheet1
Part 3 — Analyze Each Dashboard (1–2 Paragraphs Each)
For each dashboard, write a 1–2 paragraph analysis that includes:
Paragraph 1: Summary
• What is the dashboard about?
• What data, question, and topic does it explore?
• What are the main insights the dashboard reveals?
• What kinds of charts or visuals does the author use?
Paragraph 2: Evaluation
• What design elements worked well (clarity, layout, color, interactivity)?
• Was anything confusing or hard to interpret?
• How effectively does the dashboard tell a story?
• What would you improve if you were the author?
You should demonstrate thoughtful critique—not just description.
Part 4 — Submission Format
Submit all three dashboard analyses in a single document or Canvas text submission.
Your submission must include for each dashboard:
1. Dashboard Title
2. Author Name
3. Working Link
4. 1–2 Paragraph Evaluation
Make sure all three dashboards follow this format.
