Books will naturally become key resources in your units and provide you with opportunities to design literacy units that integrate reading and writing. In this assignment, you will design a language/literacy unit, including 3 lesson plans, that concentrates on 1 core book and incorporates appropriate smart technology. Part 1: Language/Literacy Unit Select 1 age group from the following: • Infant/toddler (birth–age 2) • Preschool (ages 3–4) • Kindergarten–3rd grade (ages 5–8) Develop an early childhood unit that focuses on integrating language/literacy concepts and skills into developmentally appropriate activities across the curriculum. Choose 1 children’s book or a children’s author to build your language/literacy unit around. Complete the Language/Literacy Unit Template.
