Psych645 Wk 2 Summative Assessment
📋 Assignment Instructions
Introduction:
This week, you learned about the role of research case studies, correlational studies, and experiments to conduct personality research. You also learned about psychodynamic theories through which we can understand and appreciate the role of the unconscious mind in personality development. In this assessment, you will examine one of Freud’s classic case studies and demonstrate what you are learning about psychodynamic theories and human behavior.
Assessment Preparation
Review the following scenario: You are an administrative professional working in a halfway house for juveniles. Recently, your staff has reported that a few residents are exhibiting phobias that are significantly disrupting all residents at the halfway house and creating a general sense of fear and anxiety. You have decided to develop a professional development seminar to help the staff learn more about personality, human behavior, and potential causes for the phobias. You plan to use Freud’s Little Hans case study to provide valuable insights for the staff to better understand and support the residents.
Review the summary of Sigmund Freud’s Little Hans case study in Ch. 4, “Freud’s Psychoanalytic Theory: Applications, Related Theoretical Conceptions, and Contemporary Research,” of your textbook, Personality: Theory and Research starting on page 101.

The role of family dynamics in personality development
The significance and purpose of psychodynamic theories to understand human behavior and personality
