Hi Class,  To prepare for Assessment 3 you will be creating box plots and scatter plots in Excel. For those who need steps on how to create the set of box plots by day of the week and the two sets of scatter plot for two selected lots. Here are steps to follow:  Part 1: Create the Box Plots (By Day of the Week)  Step 1: Select the Data Open your parking occupancy dataset in Excel. Highlight all rows in the “Day” column (including the first row for the data label). While holding Ctrl (or Command on Mac), also highlight the corresponding rows in the “Occupancy” column. Step 2: Insert the Box Plot 4. Go to the Insert tab. 5. Select Insert Recommended Charts, then select All Charts. 6. Choose Box and Whisker. Step 3: Check Your Work 7. Excel will generate 7 box plots, one for each day of the week. 8. Make sure all days (Monday–Sunday) are represented correctly.  Part 2: Create the First Set of Scatter Plots (Lot #1)  Step 1: Choose a Lot Select a parking lot number between 1 and 9. Step 2: Filter the Date Range 2. In the TimeStamp column, filter the data to include only: 11/20/2022 through 11/26/2022 Step 3: Select the Data 3. Highlight the filtered TimeStamp rows. 4. Highlight the corresponding Occupancy Rate rows for the selected lot. Step 4: Insert the Scatter Plot 5. Go to the Insert tab then Recommended Charts. 6. Click Insert (X, Y) Scatter Chart. 7. Select the basic Scatter Plot option. Step 5: Verify Output 8. Excel will generate 7 scatter plots, one for each day in the selected week for your chosen lot.  Part 3: Create the Second Set of Scatter Plots (Lot #2) Repeat the same steps as Part 2: Choose a different lot number (1–9). Filter the TimeStamp column to 11/20/2022 through 11/26/2022. Select the corresponding Occupancy Rate data. Select Recommended Charts then Insert a (X, Y) Scatter. Confirm that 7 scatter plots are created for this second lot.  Final Checklist Before submitting, confirm you have: 7 box plots (one for each day of the week) 7 scatter plots for Lot #1 7 scatter plots for Lot #2   There are videos in the Excel Tools & Resources Folder for Assessment 3 as well.
