Assignment Information
The purpose of these assignments is to get you actively engaged in the content, with hands-on experience working with data and data visualizations. These assignments will include utilizing R and R Studio to visualize data and run stats. It will also help prepare you for the lab experiences, so please consider reviewing and attempting this assignment prior to live class/lab.
You are encouraged to work together on these assignments but you are required to submit work that represents your unique, individual work and contributions. Any work that is exactly the same as a peers is unacceptable and will result in a zero. The value in working with others is to hear alternative explanations or understanding. Moving through difficulties together. We are a team, work together but be sure you are turning in work that represents your own work and work product.
Application and Integration 3 Instructions
For this assignment, students will complete the “Weighted Dice” section from the following book:
• Grolemund, G. (2014). Hands-on Programming with R. O’Reilly Media. https://rstudio-education.github.io/hopr/ Links to an external site.
o this includes The Very Basics and Packages and Help
• Create a .R script, appropriately named and commented that includes all the code-along from Part I (Project I, Weighted Dice) section of the book.
This portion of the text will review some important concepts in R, but will also allow students to produce a function that allows for virtual ‘dice’ to be thrown with different weights. This same logic will be used in lab this week, so it will be helpful to have reviewed this prior to live lab.

• Submit a .R file that has:
o the appropriate header
o is commented appropriately throughout
o runs without error.
• Please include any questions that you might have in comments.
