This four-page research paper measures your mastery of Unit II ULO 2.1; Unit V ULOs 2.1, and 2.2; and Unit VII ULOs 2.1, 3.1, and 4.1. For this assignment you will continue with Part III of developing your research report focused on the foreign criminal justice system you selected in Unit III, as compared to the U.S. criminal justice system. You will incorporate Parts I and II from your Unit III assignment in your completed research report. Revise these sections as needed to support the organization and flow of your research report. Be sure to incorporate any professor feedback you received. Part III: You must now answer each of the following questions, as well as compare your findings in each area to the same aspects of the U.S. criminal justice system: • How is the foreign criminal justice system structured with its law enforcement, the court system, and corrections practices? • How are terrorism and transnational crime addressed within the country’s criminal justice system? • How does this foreign criminal justice system follow the concept of comparative criminal justice? Each question should be supported with examples. You may incorporate graphics (i.e., charts, tables) to illustrate statistics, as needed, but they must be included as an appendix following the written portion of your paper. Your research report should be well-organized and include the following: • Revise Part I from the Unit III assignment as needed to develop an introduction to your research report, to include a clear thesis statement. • Revise Part II from Unit III as needed for the literature review section. You may change or add literature to better support your paper, but you must still review a minimum of four scholarly resources. Ensure you establish why each is relevant to your thesis statement or what gap(s) they identify. • Develop the remainder of the body of your research report to address the listed Part III requirements. • Conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph. Length: Your research report must be at least six pages in total length, not counting the title page, appendix, or references page. The revised material from Parts I and II from Unit III should not encompass more than three pages of the final paper. Your new Part III material must be at least three additional pages.
